This dive site, known as The Pyramid, is an artificial reef established in 1992 off the coast of Israel. It comprises two striking metal pyramids: a larger one whose apex reaches 18 meters, and nestled within it, a smaller pyramid descending to 23 meters. These structures rest on a sandy bottom found at 31 meters. Navigation for shore dives requires good skills and air consumption to safely reach and return from the site.
Beneath the surface, divers are greeted by beautiful coral growth adorning the artificial structures, teeming with vibrant reef fish. The site is also a magnet for pelagic activity, offering glimpses of large open water fish shoals and other significant marine animals that frequent the area.
While specific seasonal highlights are not detailed, the clear waters of the Red Sea generally offer good conditions year-round. This site is excellent for both scuba divers, including those seeking a manageable depth, and freedivers who will appreciate the varied depths offered by the pyramids. Divers should plan their air consumption carefully, especially when attempting the dive from shore.
