This dive site features the ELISHA wreck, located approximately 15 minutes west of Ashdod Marina in Israel. Resting on a sandy seabed, the wreck offers an intriguing structure for divers. Its top portion is found at a depth of 12-14 meters, descending to a maximum of 24 meters. The ELISHA wreck provides a historical focal point, attracting marine life to its structure.
The wreck is known to be partially covered with fishing nets, which, while potentially hazardous, also create unique habitats. Divers can expect to encounter various reef fish seeking shelter within and around the wreck. Crustaceans and other smaller marine organisms are also likely to inhabit the crevices and surfaces of the sunken vessel.
Due to its depth range, the ELISHA wreck is suitable for intermediate divers. The presence of fishing nets requires good buoyancy control and situational awareness to avoid entanglement. As no specific best time is mentioned, generally calm sea conditions would be ideal for boat access. Freedivers may find the shallower parts accessible for breath-hold diving, though caution with nets is advised.
