About this dive site

This dive site, Cala del Bollo, is located in a shallow bay named after the Aragonese tower, Bollo Tower, overlooking it. The dive is easily navigable, starting from the shore and gradually descending to a maximum depth of 13 meters. The seabed is characterized by lush poseidonia prairies, providing a beautiful and tranquil underwater landscape. This makes it ideal for beginners and open water courses.

The rich biodiversity of Cala del Bollo makes it a worthwhile dive. You can expect to encounter a variety of marine life, including octopuses, moray eels, and starfish close to the surface. Schools of damselfish, bream, and mullet inhabit the bay itself, while further offshore, you might spot barracuda and other bream species. The poseidonia meadows provide habitat for numerous small creatures, making it a great spot for macro photography.

The best time to visit Cala del Bollo is during the warmer months, from spring to autumn, when visibility is typically best and the water temperature is comfortable for diving and snorkeling. Calm conditions make it especially suitable for beginners and freedivers. Remember to check the weather forecast before your dive and always dive with a buddy, particularly for less experienced divers or freedivers.
