About this dive site

This dive site is located in Capomulini, a charming seaside village near Catania, Italy. To reach the dive area, a boat trip of approximately 15 minutes is required. The underwater environment features a unique 'anchor chain' canyon, reaching a depth of around 12 meters initially. Divers can then proceed along the rocky wall to a point about 15 meters deep. Exploration begins with an entry into this canyon, formed by two lava rock walls that extend for approximately 50 meters horizontally. The seabed at 30 meters is sandy and hosts numerous occurrences of the Mediterranean Eagle (Myliobatis aquila) during certain times of the year. Within the canyon's recesses, one can find large Groupers (Muraenidae), Stonefish (Phycis Phycis), various nudibranchs, sponges, and abundant Sea Margerites (Parazoanthus axinellae).
