About this dive site

This dive site is located in Catania, Italy and features a fascinating underwater spectacle: the Cerianthus. This unique sea anenome, part of the family Cerianthidae, thrives in this area. The dive offers a varied landscape with both volcanic rock and sandy seabed, creating an engaging and somewhat challenging path for divers. Reaching a maximum depth of 38 meters, the site is particularly rewarding during nighttime dives when the Cerianthus is most visible. Divers may encounter various marine life including schools of Saraghes (Diplodus), Scorpionfish (Seriola dumerili), and spotted sea urchins (Peltodoris atro maculata). The dive begins from under the ‘Diving’ structure, progressing towards a rocky wall approximately 15 meters deep before descending into the sandy area where the Cerianthus is located.
