About this dive site
This dive site is the wreck of Stella Maris, a sand transport barge that sank in the 1950s due to a storm. The wreck, which measures approximately 38 meters in length and rests at a depth of 25 meters, offers an intriguing diving experience. It’s renowned for its abundant population of European conger eels – a massive grongo – with their dens located within the central crane structure of the vessel. Additionally, sizable scorpionfish are commonly found on the wreck. The site presents a relatively accessible dive due to the gentle depth and established fish presence, making it suitable for divers comfortable exploring shipwrecks.
