About this dive site

This dive site, Enoura, is located on the west side of Kanagawa in Japan's Nishishon area. Known for its safety and suitability for new divers, it features a gentle sloped entry and guide ropes for easy navigation. Divers can follow these ropes to explore reefs, caissons, and grottoes, and even spot a unique Doraemon statue, reportedly at 15m, though the site's maximum depth is 13m. The site undergoes an annual cleaning around November, maintaining its pristine condition. The underwater environment supports diverse marine life, making it an interesting spot for observation. Common sightings include various snappers, elusive frogfish, colorful nudibranchs, and fascinating blue squids, which are often observed laying eggs. The combination of different habitats like reefs, caissons, and grottoes provides shelter and foraging grounds for these creatures. The best time to visit Enoura for diving and snorkeling is from spring to early summer, when marine conditions are generally most favorable. Its shallow depths, safe entry, and guide ropes make it highly suitable for both snorkeling and freediving, offering a gentle introduction to underwater exploration. The site's regular cleaning ensures a pleasant and clean diving experience for all.
