About this dive site

This dive site, Koyoko Island, is recognized as one of the top locations in its region for its exceptional allure and beauty. Divers typically begin their experience by entering from a boat into a calm area at a depth of 5 meters, which ensures a secure and beginner-friendly start. Underwater, divers will discover splendid coral colonies and schools of vibrant fish. After a necessary safety stop, the adventure continues into captivating underwater caves, offering an intriguing exploration opportunity. The diverse marine ecosystem hosts colonies of snappers, schools of yellowtail snapper, and groupers. Both soft and hard corals thrive here, creating a rich habitat. Within the dimly lit environments of the caves, communities of fish such as gibbons, gobies, and southern longspine snappers can be observed. Occasionally, lucky divers may also encounter rarer species like ragged scorpionfish, various sharks, and adult butterflyfish. While the current can sometimes become swifter, diving during low tide is often recommended to mitigate this. This site is fantastic for divers looking to immerse themselves in a vibrant ecosystem, suitable for beginners due to its calm entry and shallow areas, yet offering captivating cave explorations for more advanced divers. Freedivers will also find the maximum depth of 18 meters and the cave systems appealing for breath-hold diving.
