This dive site, Toma No.2, located in a sheltered bay on Zamami Island, Okinawa, is an ideal spot for new divers. Its calm conditions, protected from north winds, make it especially inviting during winter months. Underwater navigation is straightforward, characterized by white sand expanses interspersed with vibrant coral colonies, offering a relaxing and easy dive experience. Divers can expect to encounter a variety of marine life including schooling bigeye and longtail snappers, colorful clownfish, and unique garden eels swaying from the sandy bottom. Keen eyes might also spot intricate Debas pumice, well-camouflaged leaf scorpionfish, and the occasional western blue tang. Lanternfish add to the diverse small marine creatures inhabiting the coral patches and sandy areas. The best time to visit Toma No.2 is during winter, when its sheltered position offers protection from prevailing north winds, ensuring calm diving conditions. This site is excellent for beginners to practice skills and enjoy marine observation.
