About this dive site
This dive site, known as Chebeh, is a remarkable granite island featuring stunning underwater landscapes. The island itself boasts dense tree growth above the surface, while below lies a vibrant coral ecosystem. A steep, sloping reef formation dominates the area, built from massive granite boulders covered in fan corals (including gorgonians and black corals). Depth variations offer diverse experiences: the shallower areas range from 14 to 5 meters, teeming with healthy hard corals, and descend into a deeper zone between 18 and 30 meters, where brilliant soft corals flourish. Swim troughs provide easy navigation, and at 21 meters, a cavern shelters thousands of tiny glassfish alongside juvenile barracudas. Chebeh is renowned for its pelagic activity – expect to encounter large schools of barracuda, rainbow runners, black tip reef sharks, white tip reef sharks, jacks, and trevallies. The marine life diversity is exceptional; divers can frequently spot angel fish, puffer fish, butterfly fish, giant wrasse, bumphead parrotfish, stingrays, moray eels, lion fish, and a dazzling array of nudibranchs. Currents often enhance the experience, making it particularly rewarding when they’re pushing.
