About this dive site
This dive site, Deep Corner, is strategically located in the middle of a channel, positioned between the well-known sites of “Mantas and More“ and “Sharks Tongue.“ The underwater topography features extensive coral walls that gently slope from shallower depths to approximately 35 meters, culminating in a dramatic sheer drop into the deep blue. This dramatic wall is punctuated by numerous overhangs, inviting exploration.
The marine life here is vibrant, especially during favorable current conditions, when the site teems with masses of shoaling fish. Divers can frequently encounter various species of sharks, making it a prime location for big animal sightings. In the shallower parts of the dive towards its conclusion, an abundance of moray eels can be observed nestled within the coral formations.
The best time to visit Deep Corner is when the currents are favorable, which typically means an incoming tide that brings clear water and nutrients, attracting large pelagics. Divers should be experienced in drift diving and current management due to its channel location. Freedivers with advanced skills could appreciate the wall topography and larger marine life, but should exercise extreme caution with the potentially strong currents.
