About this dive site

This dive site, Glassfish Cove, is a vibrant reef characterized by numerous overhangs. Divers can navigate along the reef wall, exploring the various caves and ledges that provide shelter to an abundance of marine life. While no specific history or story is provided, the site is renowned for its dynamic ecosystem within these fascinating formations. The main attraction here are the dense schools of glass fish, which pack the overhangs, often becoming prey for hunting trevallies. Other notable inhabitants include majestic Napoleon wrasse, graceful eagle rays, and patrolling white tip reef sharks. Divers may also encounter schools of silver jack fish and bluefin trevally, alongside smaller creatures like spiny lobsters, lion fish, and moray eels dwelling in the reef structure. The best time to visit Glassfish Cove is generally during the dry season (December to May) when conditions are calmer and visibility is at its peak, maximizing the chances of witnessing the spectacular feeding frenzies within the overhangs. Freedivers and snorkelers will appreciate the relatively shallow average depth and the abundance of schooling fish close to the surface, making it an excellent spot for both breath-hold and surface observations.
