About this dive site

This dive site, Maafahi Corner, offers a diverse underwater experience located in a Maldivian channel. Divers typically begin their exploration on a vibrant shallow top reef at approximately 5 meters, which then gently slopes down beyond 20 meters. Depending on conditions, experienced divers can venture further into the channel to discover a small, coral-covered thila, providing excellent opportunities to explore various interesting coral and rock formations. The site is particularly renowned for its abundant pelagic life and reef dwellers. Many turtles are frequently sighted feeding here, alongside majestic eagle rays, mobula rays, and various species of sharks. The top reef teems with a bustling community of smaller reef fish, while schooling fish and eels are commonly encountered throughout the dive. The best time to visit Maafahi Corner is when channel conditions are favorable, allowing access to the deeper thila where larger pelagics are more prevalent. Its shallow top reef makes it ideal for snorkelers and beginner divers, while experienced divers can enjoy deeper exploration and potential drift diving opportunities into the channel. Freedivers will also appreciate the varying depths and rich marine life.
