Maavaru Manta Point

This dive site, Maavaru Manta Point, is located approximately twenty minutes boat ride from A A Mathiveri in the Maldives. It is primarily known as a prominent cleaning station for reef mantas, offering divers and snorkelers a high chance of encountering these majestic creatures. While there isn't a specific historical account, its reputation stems from consistent manta sightings due to its natural role in the reef ecosystem. The site is teeming with marine life, most notably reef mantas and eagle rays, which frequent the cleaning station. Lucky visitors may also encounter dolphins. The vibrant coral reef attracts a variety of coral fishes, including angel fishes, butterfly fishes, and trigger fish, along with numerous other small reef inhabitants. The best time to visit for optimal manta sightings is typically from December through April. Its shallow average depth of 8 meters and maximum depth of 16 meters make it highly suitable for both scuba divers of all experience levels, and also an excellent spot for freedivers and snorkelers seeking close encounters with mantas in crystal-clear waters.
