About this dive site

This dive site, Miyaren Haa, is a beautiful small pinnacle located northwest of Thulusdhoo in the Maldives. The reef's top begins at a comfortable 7 meters, gently descending into a steep slope. For those who venture a bit deeper, a separate coral block rich in corals and abundant fish life can be found around 30 meters, though the maximum depth for this site is typically considered 21 meters, making it accessible for a wide range of divers. The vibrant topography and healthy reef structure provide an engaging underwater exploration experience. Miyaren Haa is a thriving marine ecosystem, boasting a remarkable diversity of life. Divers are frequently delighted by sightings of larger pelagics such as white and black tip reef sharks, graceful stingrays, and elegant eaglerays, alongside fast-moving tuna. The reef is also home to a myriad of smaller, fascinating creatures, including colorful parrotfish, unique peacock mantis shrimps, and various species of nudibranchs, making it a paradise for macro enthusiasts and wide-angle photographers alike. The best time to visit Miyaren Haa, and the Maldives in general, is typically during the dry season from December to May, when the weather is calm and underwater visibility is at its peak. This site is excellently suited for both scuba diving and freediving due to its accessible reef top and moderate depths. Snorkelers can also enjoy the shallow, vibrant sections of the pinnacle, while divers should be prepared for potentially variable currents, which are common in atoll environments and can add an exciting drift element to the dive.
