Reef Explorer (wreck)

This dive site, known as the Reef Explorer, is an intentional wreck comprising a 30-meter fishing boat that rests between 12-16 meters deep on a sandy bottom, just a five-minute boat ride from Rasdhoo. This artificial reef is easily navigated, providing a straightforward and enjoyable dive for all skill levels. It is a popular local site, especially favored for its accessibility and suitability for beginners and night dive enthusiasts. The Reef Explorer is a vibrant underwater haven, teeming with diverse marine life. Divers can expect to encounter a large colony of garden eels gracefully swaying on the surrounding sandy bottom. Resident groupers have made the wreck their home, often found within its structure. Closer inspection may reveal cleaner shrimp, diligently at work. Furthermore, the site offers opportunities to spot larger pelagic visitors, with manta rays and turtles occasionally passing by. The Reef Explorer offers excellent diving conditions year-round, though specific timings for manta ray encounters can vary with seasons.
