Sirru Fen Fushi Hulanghu Faru - Manta Point

This dive site, known as Manta Point, is a premier location situated to the northwest of Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi, requiring a 15-minute boat ride to reach. It is renowned for its natural manta cleaning stations, where these majestic creatures hover while smaller fish remove parasites. The site's underwater topography, likely featuring coral bommies or specific reef sections, provides ideal conditions for these cleaning rituals, offering an awe-inspiring spectacle for divers. The main attraction at Manta Point is undoubtedly the magnificent manta ray. Divers can observe numerous manta rays being attended to by various species of cleaner fish. The site also boasts a vibrant coral reef ecosystem, typical of the Maldives, teeming with diverse reef fish and healthy coral formations that contribute to the overall rich marine biodiversity. The best time to visit this dive site for optimal manta encounters is during the north-east monsoon season, from December to April. During this period, mantas are frequently seen at depths ranging between 12 and 25 meters. For both freedivers and scuba divers, it is essential to maintain a respectful distance from the cleaning stations to avoid disturbing the mantas and their natural behavior. The relatively shallow average depth makes it suitable for extended bottom times and a wide range of diver experience levels.
