Summer Island House Reef (Blue Lagoon)

This dive site, known as Summer Island House Reef or Blue Lagoon, is located just in front of the Summer Island jetty. It features an impressive coral nursery, where corals are cultivated on ropes before being replanted onto stable concrete and steel formations along a gently sloping sandy bottom. The nursery starts at 4 meters and extends down to 25 meters, offering an easily navigable and unique underwater environment. Divers can expect to encounter a rich variety of marine life. The reef is home to white-tip and black-tip reef sharks, majestic eagle rays, and marbled rays. Moray eels, green turtles, and numerous pufferfishes are also common sightings, thriving within the vibrant coral structures of the nursery. The house reef is suitable for divers and freedivers of all levels due to its accessible depths and generally mild currents. The best time to visit the Maldives typically spans from November to April, offering optimal weather and calm conditions for diving and snorkeling.
