Vandhoo (The) Wall

This dive site, Vandhoo Wall, is a renowned drift dive located along Vandhoo island in the Maldives. It offers several hundred meters of exciting underwater exploration. The dive typically navigates a vibrant top reef, rich in hard corals, that gradually descends from 4 to 8 meters, then slopes further down to 15 meters before reaching an impressive 250-meter long wall that plunges to depths beyond 30 meters. Divers can expect encounters with large pelagics such as Napoleon Wrasse, graceful Turtles, and various shark species including Gray Reef Sharks and Silvertips. A highlight is the presence of majestic Manta Rays, especially between June and November when their cleaning station is active on the top reef. Additionally, the reef and sloping wall are teeming with abundant macro life, featuring fascinating Snails and Vortex Worms, alongside countless other reef fish and vibrant hard corals. The prime period for visiting Vandhoo Wall, particularly for observing Manta Rays at their cleaning station, is between June and November. This dive site is suitable for all experience levels; beginners can enjoy the shallow reef and cleaning station, while more experienced divers can explore the deeper sections of the wall. It's an excellent location for both scuba diving and freediving, with ample opportunities for snorkelers on the top reef. Divers should be comfortable with drift conditions for the full experience.
