About this dive site

This dive site, Alex's Cave, is located in Comino, Malta, and offers a straightforward and enjoyable cave diving experience. The entrance is marked by boulders, under which various marine life can be found. Navigation within the cave is relatively easy, with a clear swim-through leading to a spacious, 40-meter-long internal chamber. The sandy plains outside the cave also hold their own unique marine life.

Marine life in and around Alex's Cave is abundant and varied. Divers can expect to see a variety of fish species commonly found in the Mediterranean, including groupers, wrasses, and smaller reef fish. The sandy plains might reveal crustaceans and other invertebrates. The cave itself, though primarily a geological feature, can provide an interesting backdrop for underwater photography.

The best time to visit Alex's Cave is during the warmer months, from May to October, when the water temperature is pleasant and visibility is generally at its best. Freedivers will appreciate the relatively calm conditions and shallow depth, while scuba divers will enjoy the simple exploration of the cave and surrounding area. Remember to maintain buoyancy control within the cave and always dive with a buddy.
