This dive site, San Clemente, is a shallow barrier reef located approximately 500 meters (0.3 miles) from the shore near the Sunscape/Secrets resort. The reef is mostly flat, spanning over 900 meters (0.6 miles) in length, offering easy navigation. With its mild currents, San Clemente is an excellent choice for a relaxed dive, particularly favored for late-day or night dives.
The many crevices and nooks within the reef serve as home to a variety of marine life. Divers can expect to encounter lobsters, moray eels, and stingrays during the day. For those embarking on a night dive, the chances of spotting elusive octopus and squids are significantly increased, alongside other nocturnal creatures.
San Clemente is suitable for diving year-round due to its protected location and mild conditions. It is particularly recommended for night dives to experience its unique nocturnal inhabitants.
