About this dive site

This dive site, the Onderwater Natuurpark Zegersloot, offers a diverse underwater experience. The area features sandy bottoms interspersed with cairns, clay layers, and peat deposits, creating a varied seabed. A wide range of marine life inhabits these waters, including large eels, walleye, mitten crabs, and long-nosed sturgeon shrimp. Several wrecks are present; the most prominent is the sailing yacht De Regina Maris, located between 11 and 13 meters deep and containing schools of whitefish and bass. To the left of this wreck lies the wreck of De Gatenkaas at a depth of 12.5 meters. This site also includes multiple measuring stations situated at different depths around the wrecks. Divers should be aware of potential pleasure boat traffic. Access to the dive area is via a jetty located at the park entrance. A plateau approximately one meter below sea level provides a suitable starting point for divers. From this point, you can explore the underwater landscape and locate the various objects present. The Regina Maris can be easily spotted by swimming 295 degrees from the entrance. Navigation to De Gatenkaas involves swimming left of De Regina Maris.
