About this dive site
This dive site features the former Navy Frigate Canterbury F421, which now rests in Deep Water Cove near Cape Brett. The frigate is remarkably upright and intact, offering a truly impressive sight for divers. Access to the wreck provides various exploration opportunities.
The majority of the ship’s structure—the upper deck, bridge, and first floor levels—is easily accessible for recreational diving, typically reaching depths of around 20 meters. For more experienced divers, exploring the lower sections is possible, with the stern resting at approximately 36 meters. A passageway through the bridge allows access to the helicopter hanger located at a depth of 27 meters.
The wreck is already hosting a variety of marine life, including schools of fish inhabiting the bridge and areas around the funnel. The Canterbury presents an interesting dive with accessible sections for various skill levels.
