About this dive site

Princess Bay is a popular dive site located at the end of a local marine reserve in Wellington. It offers two distinct entry points: one on the right side of the car park, leading to an area known for its abundant fish and easier access, and another through a path between rocks, providing more reef structure and greater depth further out. Divers can explore a loop route starting on the reef and ending in the sand. The dive typically occurs at depths ranging from 8 to 10 meters. You’ll find a variety of marine life including Blue Moki, Terakihi, mackerel, and spotties near the rocky reef. Look for conger eels, nudibranchs, and crayfish amongst the reef formations. This site also provides amenities such as showers and changing rooms, alongside a tap for convenience. It's a great spot to observe diverse marine ecosystems.
