About this dive site
This dive site is the wreck of the Rainbow Warrior, a Greenpeace flagship. The vessel was sunk in Auckland Harbour on July 10, 1985, by French saboteurs while protesting nuclear testing at the Mururoa Atoll. After the incident, Greenpeace gifted the Warrior to the sea, where it now serves as an artificial reef within the Cavallii Islands. This location has become a haven for diverse marine life. Divers can explore depths reaching 26 meters. The wreck is teeming with aquatic animals of various kinds. It’s recognized globally as a remarkable dive destination.
