Ras Sawt

This dive site, Ras Sawt, is located a short boat ride from Dibba port in Oman. It's characterized by its shallow and calm waters, making it an ideal location for beginner divers. The dive site is easily navigable, with a relatively flat seabed and abundant coral formations. There is no known historical significance or unique story associated with this particular location, but it offers a tranquil and accessible diving experience. Marine life at Ras Sawt is diverse, although not exceptionally abundant in large pelagic species. Divers can expect to see common coral fish, schools of fusiliers, and smaller creatures like baby Murray eels and stingrays. The presence of turtles is also noted, adding a highlight to the underwater scenery. The coral formations themselves provide a vibrant backdrop, housing a range of smaller invertebrates and reef fish. The best time to visit Ras Sawt is during the warmer months (October to May), when water temperatures are more comfortable and visibility is generally at its best. The calm waters make it suitable for both scuba diving and freediving, although divers should always check current conditions before entering the water. As this is a relatively shallow site, divers should pay attention to their depth and buoyancy to avoid disturbing the delicate marine ecosystem.
