This dive site features the ARC Tamaraw FX, an SUV intentionally sunk to create an artificial reef and serve as an ideal training ground. Located with an easy swim out from the ARC lower parking lot, this shallow wreck rests on a gentle sandy slope, making underwater navigation straightforward. It's a popular spot for practicing scuba, freediving, and snorkeling skills.
The artificial reef attracts a variety of marine life. Divers can expect to find resident frogfish, various shrimps, and colorful nudibranchs. The vehicle body shows signs of barnacle growth, providing further habitat. Larger fish sightings include occasional sweetlips, snappers, trevally fish, and even barracudas, with some fish utilizing the roof of the SUV as shelter.
The site is best visited during the Amihan season, as access is not recommended during the Habagat monsoon. It's suitable for all levels, from beginners to experienced divers and freedivers. Beach access requires booties due to the potential for sharp objects. Its diverse ecosystem within a shallow depth makes it an excellent location for macro photography and skill development.
