About this dive site

This dive site is located in a unique lake system – a freshwater body resting above a saltwater layer. The freshwater portion maintains a comfortable temperature of 31 degrees Celsius, while the upper salt water layer reaches 38 degrees Celsius due to geothermal vents. These vents create an otherworldly environment where underwater rock formations resemble landscapes from another planet. The site is near Maquinit Hot Springs, just 4 kilometers away. Divers have a chance to encounter resident barracuda. Exploring this lake offers a truly distinctive diving experience.
