About this dive site

This dive site is located on Cabilao Island, a small island in the Philippines. It’s part of the larger Siquijor archipelago and offers a beautiful underwater experience. The island itself has a rich history, once a leper colony before being transformed into a popular tourist destination. The surrounding waters are renowned for their diverse marine life and vibrant coral reefs. Visibility can be excellent, often exceeding 20 meters, particularly during the calmer months. Divers frequently explore several interesting sites around the island, including Japanese shipwrecks and extensive reef systems. The currents can vary depending on the location and time of year; some areas are suitable for beginners while others present a challenge to intermediate divers. Expect to encounter colorful fish species like parrotfish, angelfish, and butterflyfish. Larger animals such as sea turtles and occasional sharks have also been sighted. The best time to visit Cabilao Island for diving is generally during the dry season, from December to May, when visibility is at its peak and currents are lighter.
