This dive site, known as Gorgonia Wall, is situated off the coast of Siquijor in the Philippines. It features a sloping wall that begins at a depth of 5 meters, where the reeftop shows signs of past damage from Storm PABLO. As divers descend past 10 meters, the landscape quickly transforms into a vibrant and fish-rich environment, offering excellent visibility. The dive typically involves following the wall's contours, enjoying the abundant marine life at various depths.
The Gorgonia Wall is teeming with a diverse array of marine animals. Divers can frequently encounter Scorpionfishes, Lippfishes, and Batfishes amidst the corals. Keep an eye out into the blue for larger pelagics like Barracudas and the graceful presence of Turtles, which are frequent visitors to this healthy reef ecosystem, alongside numerous other reef fish species.
Blessed with very good visibility for most of the year, Gorgonia Wall offers an enjoyable diving experience. Divers are advised to always look out into the blue for potential encounters with larger marine life, especially Barracudas and Turtles. Its accessible depths and vibrant marine life make it suitable for both scuba divers of all levels and freedivers seeking an engaging wall experience.
