This dive site, Royal Garden, is renowned as one of Balicasag Island's premier underwater attractions. Situated on an expansive underwater plateau, it is celebrated for its magnificent coral gardens and vibrant ecosystem. Divers typically navigate along the plateau, exploring its various formations and hidden nooks, making it an ideal location for leisurely exploration.
The site boasts an incredible array of marine life, including frequent sightings of green and hawksbill sea turtles. Macro enthusiasts will delight in finding ribbon and moray eels, titan triggerfish, delicate nudibranchs, cleverly camouflaged frogfish, and robust ghost pipefish. Larger pelagics like blue fin trevally, along with colorful angelfish and anemonefish, also inhabit these thriving corals.
Royal Garden is an excellent dive site year-round, though the dry season (December to May) often offers the best visibility and calmest conditions. Its relatively shallow maximum depth and rich biodiversity make it equally suitable and rewarding for scuba divers and freedivers alike, especially those keen on macro photography and spotting intricate coral life.
