This dive site, Talima, features a gentle sandy slope adorned with vibrant corals, transitioning into a deeper wall that begins between 12-17 meters. A notable feature is a memorial commemorating long-lost wooden wrecks at approximately 12 meters, which acts as a significant draw for marine life. Navigation typically involves exploring the slope and memorial, then drifting along the wall if currents permit, with the site's overall depth exceeding 40 meters in some areas.
Talima boasts diverse marine life, including frequent sightings of turtles, jacks, emperors, trevally, barracuda, and large schools of sardines, particularly around the wreck memorial. The healthy coral formations support a variety of reef fish and smaller invertebrates, contributing to a rich ecosystem.
Talima is suitable for diving year-round, with conditions largely depending on tides due to the potential for strong currents on an outbound tide. The wreck memorial is a consistent highlight, ensuring plenty of fish activity. Divers should be mindful of the currents and plan their dives accordingly. Freedivers will enjoy the shallower coral gardens and the wall's accessibility, but should also consider current conditions.
