About this dive site

This dive site presents the wreck of The River Taw, a 144-foot freighter that sank in 1981. It suffered further damage in 1989 when Hurricane Hugo ripped it in half. Located on a sandy seabed, the wreck is surrounded by sea grass and remnants from the construction of Port Zante. Of particular interest are the scattered remains of a van and bulldozer situated amongst the vegetation near the site. This dive location welcomes divers of all experience levels and offers excellent opportunities for underwater photography. The area is home to various marine life including turtles, eels, octopus, porcupine fish, and stingrays. The depth of the wreck reaches approximately 14.6 meters.
