About this dive site
This dive site, Ann Ann, is the largest wreck dive in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The wreck itself is in remarkably good condition despite having fallen onto its side during a storm in 2022. It rests on its side between two reefs, ranging in depth from approximately 14 meters to a maximum of 30 meters. Divers should be prepared for navigating the wreck's structure, paying attention to potential entanglement hazards and maintaining proper buoyancy control. The site offers a unique underwater landscape, a combination of the wreck itself and the surrounding reef ecosystem.
The marine life at Ann Ann is diverse and abundant. Divers can expect to see schools of barracuda (year-round), snappers, blue-spotted stingrays (often found near the sandy seabed next to the wreck), and tuna. Shellfish and other smaller reef inhabitants are also present, offering opportunities for macro photography.
The best time to visit Ann Ann is likely during the warmer months when water conditions are optimal, offering better visibility and calmer currents. Divers should always check weather conditions and current forecasts before diving. Due to the depth and the wreck's condition, this site is not recommended for beginners or inexperienced divers. Stronger currents may be present near the wreck, making proper planning and preparation even more crucial.
