This dive site offers an immersive experience into the unique wreck of the Suzuki, resting at a maximum depth of 27 meters and listing heavily to starboard. While interior access is currently not possible, the distinct angle and surrounding environment provide a memorable exploration. The wreck itself serves as a fascinating artificial reef, constantly evolving as marine life colonizes its structure.
The Suzuki wreck is teeming with diverse marine life. Divers can expect to encounter various species including graceful stingrays, vibrant angelfish, delicate butterflyfish, and elongated trumpetfish and flute fish. Larger pelagic species such as Sarr and amberjacks are also frequently spotted patrolling the wreck, adding to the site's rich biodiversity.
The best time to visit this dive site for optimal conditions is typically during the drier seasons in Senegal, offering clearer visibility. Divers should focus on exploring the exterior of the wreck, admiring its unique orientation and the abundant life it hosts. Freedivers, if experienced, can also enjoy the site, especially around the shallower parts of the wreck, but caution should be exercised regarding depth and potential currents.
