Ray's point

This dive site, Ray's Point, is located near Anse du Riz in the Seychelles, a short boat trip from Beau Vallon Beach or Bel Ombre Marina. It features a beautiful reef system along granite rocks, offering a varied underwater landscape. The dive typically involves exploring the reef structure at depths ranging from the surface to a maximum of 16 meters, with an average depth around 8 meters. Navigation is relatively straightforward, following the reef structure, but divers should be mindful of possible currents.

The marine life at Ray's Point is diverse and abundant. Expect to encounter a variety of reef fish, including pipefish, lionfish, and moray eels. Hawksbill turtles are a common sight, and there's also a chance to see larger animals such as octopus, eagle rays, and even whitetip reef sharks. The reef itself supports a healthy coral community, offering plenty of opportunities for macro photography.

The best time to visit Ray's Point is during the dry season (May to October) when the visibility is typically at its best and the seas are calmer. Currents can be variable, so it's advisable to check conditions with local dive operators before embarking on a dive. For freediving, it's recommended to stick to shallower sections and be cautious of currents. The varied depths and abundance of marine life make this a rewarding dive for both divers and snorkelers alike.
