About this dive site

This dive site, aptly named Moonscape, is a unique underwater environment off the coast of Sint Maarten. It features a distinct cratered reef topography that strikingly resembles the surface of the moon, giving it its name. Divers can explore this unusual landscape, which starts at approximately 12 meters (40 feet) of water and descends to a maximum depth of 15 meters, with an average depth around 7 meters.

Moonscape boasts a vibrant ecosystem, home to numerous Caribbean Stingrays gracefully gliding across the sandy patches. The reef is adorned with a large and diverse garden of both hard and soft corals, providing shelter and sustenance for various marine creatures. Divers can expect to encounter sleeper sharks, elusive lobsters, and a colorful array of angelfish.

While Moonscape can be enjoyed year-round, the calmer seas typically experienced from April to November often offer the best conditions for diving and snorkeling. Its relatively shallow depths make it an excellent choice for beginner divers and a fantastic spot for freedivers and snorkelers to explore the unique lunar landscape and abundant marine life.
