About this dive site

This dive site, 2 El Motor, is located on the outer part of Crater Mountain in Spain and features a large, well-preserved World War II bomber engine resting on the sandy seabed at a maximum depth of 26 meters. Divers can explore the engine, which is heavily colonized by invertebrates and serves as a habitat for moray and conger eels. The dive offers two possible routes, allowing divers to choose a path based on their air consumption and interests. Remember to look up occasionally, as unexpected marine life might surprise you.

The engine itself attracts a variety of marine life. In addition to the moray and conger eels mentioned, divers can expect to see various invertebrates colonizing the wreck, along with smaller fish seeking shelter among the engine's structure. The surrounding sandy seabed might also harbor other creatures, though the focus is naturally the wreck itself.

The best time to visit is likely during the warmer months (spring and summer) when visibility is generally better, and water temperatures are more comfortable. Experienced divers will appreciate the exploration of this unique wreck, while it is not recommended for beginners due to the depth. Divers should pay attention to their air consumption, and plan their dive accordingly, given the two possible routes available.
