About this dive site

This dive site is located off the Muelle de Garachico in Tenerife, offering a fascinating underwater landscape shaped by volcanic activity. Divers will encounter a diverse environment with a mix of rocky valleys, overhangs, sandy patches, and interesting concrete structures, creating a variety of exploration opportunities. Navigation is generally straightforward due to the relatively shallow depth and clear visibility, making it accessible to divers of all levels.

The marine life here is abundant and varied. Divers can expect to see ornate wrasses, trumpetfish, canary damselfish, octopus, sepia, arrow crabs, goldstreams, and even barracudas, among other species. The diverse habitats support a rich ecosystem, making it a rewarding site for both macro and wide-angle photography.

The best time to visit Bahía de Garachico is during the warmer months (spring and summer) when the water temperature is most pleasant and visibility is typically at its best. The calmer sea conditions during these months also make for a more comfortable dive. For freedivers, the shallower areas are perfect for practicing breath-hold techniques, while scuba divers can explore the deeper sections of the site. Remember to always check local weather conditions and dive with a buddy.
