About this dive site
This dive site is located on the beach of Abama, offering an interesting underwater experience. The entry point involves descending in shallow water and navigating to a breakwater before reaching the open ocean. Be aware of potential swells and waves during this approach. On calmer days, a swimthrough provides an alternative exit from the bay. The highlight of this dive is the nearby volcanic cave, one of the largest underwater caves on the island. Within the cave, divers can explore two distinct sections: the initial area features stingrays along the cave walls, while the deeper part contains underwater air pockets, including one with access to the surface. The seabed consists primarily of rocks, and remnants of old electrical lines from former farms are scattered throughout. Currents can be present, especially during tidal changes; caution is advised. This cave reaches a maximum depth of 88 meters.
