About this dive site
This dive site is located within a spectacular cavern system, considered one of the most emblematic diving spots in the Medes Islands. The main feature is a large cathedral-like chamber with several interconnected tunnels and passages that lead to the other side of the Meda Petita. A bronze bottlenose dolphin statue was recently placed at the entrance, commemorating the importance of marine conservation efforts. Just before entering the first tunnel, divers can observe a stunning wall covered in diverse coralline algae, predominantly red coral. The cavern is characterized by numerous chimneys and entrances, creating an intriguing play of light throughout the underwater environment – a favorite among photographers. A notable variety of nudibranchs inhabits this area, including the distinctive Swiss cows, known for their impressive size. This dive offers a unique experience due to its internal lighting and diverse marine life.
