About this dive site

This dive site, El Brut, boasts a rich history dating back to Roman times, renowned for its abundant marine life and extensive 4km long rock formations teeming with Posidonia. Navigating the underwater landscape involves exploring these formations, which offer diverse habitats and excellent photographic opportunities. The site's long history and consistent marine life make it a popular destination for divers and fishers alike.

The abundant Posidonia meadows provide shelter for a variety of species, including groupers, moray eels, and rays (seasonal). The diverse habitats within the rock formations attract various smaller creatures, adding to the rich biodiversity found at El Brut. Expect to see a wide variety of fish species, crustaceans and potentially even octopus or cuttlefish amongst the rocks and Posidonia.

The best time to visit El Brut is during the warmer months (spring and summer) when visibility is typically at its best and the water temperature is more comfortable. For freedivers, the moderate depths and generally mild currents make this a suitable location. Divers should be aware of potential currents and always maintain safe diving practices, including proper buoyancy control and dive planning.
