About this dive site
This dive site is a remarkably well-preserved shipwreck, the Pecio, located near Palm-Mar in an arenal. The vessel measures 42 meters in length and rests at a depth of approximately 27.4 meters. It offers exceptional conditions for photographers due to its incredible visibility – truly stunning light and dramatic contraluces. The wreck has been meticulously cleaned, allowing easy access to all cabins and internal spaces. Key features include the horizontal resting mast with a popa (stern post) at 25 meters and the prominent palo mayor (mainmast) topped with a vigía (observation deck), which gently brushes against the seabed at around 15 meters. The area is teeming with marine life, including medregales patrolling alongside large schools of smaller fish. With such excellent visibility, you can comfortably explore for up to 25 minutes before reaching your decompression stop.
