This dive site, El Tubet, is an offshore location approximately half a mile from Sa Palomera, marking possibly the southernmost dive on the Costa Brava. Situated at a maximum depth of 28 meters, it's notable for the confluence of the Blanes rainwater outfall pipe with two distinct areas of low granite rock. Divers navigate around these extensive rock formations, exploring their many corners and crevices which serve as prime habitats for various marine species.
The site is teeming with a variety of marine life. Among the hidden corners of the granite rocks, divers can expect to encounter lobsters, moray eels, and large conger eels. Other inhabitants include various types of smaller eels and numerous nudibranch species, making it a rich spot for observing diverse invertebrates and reef fish.
The best time to visit El Tubet for optimal diving conditions is generally during the warmer months from late spring to early autumn, when water temperatures are more comfortable and visibility is typically at its best. Its depths and offshore location make it suitable for intermediate divers. Freedivers will appreciate the maximum depth of 28 meters and the abundant marine life sheltered within the rock formations.
