About this dive site

This dive site, Furio de Aigua Xelida, is located 10 minutes northeast of Tamariu, Spain. The dive begins at the mooring line, already at a depth of 8 meters, allowing easy access to the reef. A notable feature is a small cave at 12 meters, accessible to buddy teams equipped with lights. The dive site is characterized by a relatively shallow reef system suitable for various diving levels.

The marine life is abundant and varied. Divers can expect to encounter big barracudas, moray eels, breams, schools of chromis, groupers, eagle rays, nudibranchs, shrimps, octopus, sepia, gorgonians, and fairy basslets. This diverse ecosystem offers opportunities for both macro and wide-angle photography.

The best time to visit is likely during the warmer months (May-October) when visibility is usually best and the water temperature is more comfortable. For freedivers, the shallower areas around the reef are suitable, but caution should be taken around the cave. Scuba divers should be aware of depth and possible surge conditions. Always be mindful of buddy diving practices when exploring the cave.
