About this dive site
This dive site, known as 'The Hole in the Wall Dive', offers a unique and challenging experience. The entry begins with a gentle descent into a vee-shaped channel reaching approximately 5 meters. Divers then navigate through a hole before emerging from a cave – the source of the site’s name. Continuing along the slope for 25 meters reveals an impressive archway teeming with Trumpet Fish and Bream, dropping to a maximum depth of 22 meters. For those seeking further exploration, a 100-meter swim leads to a remarkable spectacle: a 'fish ball' composed of around two thousand bastard grunts (roncadores). This area also features a school of Striped Bream accompanied by Barracudas, known for their predatory nature and reaching up to 1.2 meters in length. The route continues around the Punta de la Monja, culminating in calmer waters within El Cabrón bay. Careful air management is essential due to the dive's considerable distance. Numerous small caves and recesses provide potential habitats for nocturnal creatures like Glass-eye and Conger eels. Finally, abundant Atlantic Damselfish populate the rocky crags and ledges, creating a visually striking underwater landscape.
