About this dive site

This dive site, La Muladera / Roca del Moro, is located in a canyon between two rocks. The anchor line leads divers down the middle of the canyon, a relatively straightforward descent to a maximum depth of 21 meters. The dive progresses along the canyon walls, southwards, towards a rock formation at around 24 meters depth which is the main area of interest. This area provides shelter for the abundant marine life, making for a visually interesting and rewarding dive.

The marine life at La Muladera / Roca del Moro is typical of the Mediterranean Sea. Divers can expect to see various species of fish, including spits and breams, along with moray eels and the ever-popular octopuses. The area is also known for its diversity of nudibranchs, making it an ideal spot for macro photography. Lobsters are also often found within the rock formations.

The best time to visit is likely during the warmer months, from spring to autumn, when water temperatures are more comfortable and visibility is generally better. The calmer seas during these periods also ensure a more pleasant dive. For freediving, it's advisable to choose a day with minimal current. Divers should be aware of the potential for mild currents, especially at greater depths. Basic navigation skills are recommended due to the nature of the canyon dive site.
