This dive site offers a unique underwater experience focused around an artificial structure: a water collection tower for a desalination plant, built at an 18-meter depth. Located about 15 minutes by boat south of the port, opposite the cliffs of “Cala Blanca”, the dive provides a rare opportunity to observe marine life adapting to and interacting with man-made installations. Navigation is straightforward, circling the tower and exploring the surrounding sandy bottom.
The sandy bottom around the tower is home to fascinating macro life, including greate weever fish, cotton-spinner crabs, and starfish. In the open water, divers can encounter various schooling fish such as striped red mullets, saddled seabream, white seabreams, and two-banded seabreams, showcasing a vibrant coastal ecosystem.
This site is particularly suitable for new divers due to its shallow maximum depth and calm conditions, making it an excellent location for skill development and marine observation. Its unique structure makes it a good spot for underwater photography, especially for wide-angle shots of the tower and macro shots of the sandy bottom dwellers. Typically, the Mediterranean diving season offers good conditions from late spring to early autumn.
