About this dive site
This dive site, often mistakenly referred to as "cathedral", is a unique volcanic canyon located in the north. It’s a fascinating underwater geological formation characterized by arches and a substantial cave situated beneath a prominent main reef. Divers enter the system from above, descending into the cave at approximately 20 meters. The dive continues through this impressive cavity before emerging at 33 meters within the broader canyon expanse. The site's history is somewhat unusual: it was initially dubbed "cathedral" in a Spanish guide, an error corrected by dive center ATLANTIK, who are credited with discovering and naming all dive sites in that region.
The canyon offers a visually stunning experience, with its dramatic rock formations and the vastness of the cave providing a sense of scale. Visibility within the canyon is expected to be good, enhancing the beauty of this underwater environment. While specific marine life hasn’t been documented, it's reasonable to expect a variety of typical canyon inhabitants given the diverse habitat.
The dive presents an intermediate level of difficulty due to the depth change and the enclosed nature of the cave.
