Luis Arch / The Pinnacle / Tortuga

This dive site, known as Tortuga, Luis Arch, or The Pinnacle, is located off the coast of Spain. It features a dramatic, massive underwater pinnacle with a unique diagonal tunnel cutting through its center. This creates fascinating light effects and a memorable diving experience. Navigating the tunnel requires some experience due to potential currents and limited visibility in certain areas, but the reward is a truly stunning underwater vista. The site itself does not have a widely known history, but is a popular spot among local divers. The rich biodiversity is a major draw. Divers and snorkelers can expect to encounter a variety of marine life, including moray eels, octopuses, amberjacks, barracudas, and colorful wrasse. Schools of smaller fish add to the vibrant underwater scene. The rocky terrain provides plenty of nooks and crannies for marine life to thrive. The best time to visit Tortuga is likely during the warmer months (spring and summer) when visibility is typically better and the water temperature is more comfortable. However, currents can be variable regardless of the season, so checking local dive conditions before your dive is highly recommended. This site is more suited to scuba divers due to the depth and the tunnel, although skilled freedivers may find certain parts interesting.
